Report content
Version 1.0 · Last updated 6 September 2026
Anyone can tell us about content on visitmy.art they believe is illegal — you don't need an account, and you don't need to be the person affected. This page explains how, what we do about it, and what happens if it's your gallery that gets restricted.
Content involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children: report it immediately using the email below with URGENT in the subject line. It is removed on sight, the account is closed permanently, and the matter is reported to the authorities. You may report this anonymously — you do not have to give your name.
What this page is for
| If you want to… | Then |
|---|---|
| Report content you believe is illegal — including copyright infringement | Use the process below. |
| Report something that breaks our rules but may not be illegal — harassment, explicit material, impersonation | Use the same process. Say which rule you think it breaks (see the Terms of Service). |
| Ask us to remove personal data about you | See the Privacy Policy — same address, and we'll treat it as a data request. |
| Tell us your gallery was restricted unfairly | See "If your content was restricted" below. |
How to send a notice
Email michalchermak@gmail.com. So we can act quickly, please include all four of these:
- Where it is. The exact address — for example
visitmy.art/somename— and, if the gallery is large, which artwork or part of it you mean. - Why you believe it's illegal. Explain what's wrong and, if you can, which law or right it breaks. If it's your copyright, say what the original work is and what your connection to it is.
- Your name and email address, so we can confirm receipt and tell you the outcome. (Not required for reports concerning child sexual abuse material — those can be anonymous.)
- A confirmation that, to the best of your knowledge, your report is accurate and complete and made in good faith.
Opens your email app with the four points laid out. Nothing is sent until you send it.
What happens next
- We confirm we got it, normally within two working days.
- A person reviews it. There is no automated content moderation on visitmy.art — every decision is made by a human being, and that human is me.
- We decide, normally within seven working days of acknowledging. Serious cases are handled straight away rather than queued.
- We tell you the outcome and the reasons for it, and what you can do if you disagree.
- We tell the gallery owner what was restricted and why, unless we're legally prevented from doing so — so they can respond or put things right.
A notice that gives us enough detail to establish illegality without a detailed legal examination means we're treated as having actual knowledge of it — which is precisely why we act on these promptly.
If your content was restricted
If we remove, unpublish or restrict something of yours, or suspend your account, we'll send you a statement of reasons telling you:
- what we did, and to what;
- whether it was because the content is illegal, or because it breaks our Terms of Service;
- the facts we relied on, and whether a complaint prompted it;
- that the decision was made by a person, not automatically;
- how to challenge it.
Challenging a decision
Reply to the email and tell us why you think we got it wrong. We'll look again, and if we were mistaken we'll restore your content and say so. You are also free at any point to take the matter to a court, or to the relevant authority in your country — nothing here takes away that right.
A note on our size. visitmy.art is run by one person. Very small providers are not required to operate the formal internal appeal boards and certified dispute-settlement bodies that large platforms must offer. What we commit to instead is simple and real: a human reads your reply, reconsiders honestly, and tells you the outcome.
Repeated or bad-faith reports
If someone repeatedly sends reports that are clearly unfounded or made in bad faith, we may stop processing them, after warning that person first.
